Grammys Live Blog: 68th Annual Grammy Awards Reactions, Thoughts & Information

Welcome to MXDWN’s official 2026 Grammy Awards live blog! The 68th annual Grammy Award ceremony is here and we are dedicated to bringing you quality Grammys coverage, with consistent updates throughout the preshow and ceremony. So keep up with MXDWN, if you don’t want to miss a thing when it comes to the 2026 Grammy Awards.

This year’s Grammys will take place at the Crypto Arena in Los Angeles and be the last iteration hosted by Trevor Noah. Including this year, Noah has taken on the hosting role for the Grammy Awards every year since 2020. The ceremony starts at 5 pm PST, but there’s more fun to be had ahead of the main event, during the pre-ceremony and carpet, which will begin at 12:30 pm PST. Multiple fashion icons and trendsetters are expected to make their appearance on the carpet, including Doechii, Chappell Roan, Zara Larsson, Lola Young, the Katseye girls and more!

There will also be multiple performances during the pre-ceremony, which will be hosted by Glee star Darren Criss. Criss will also perform with his Maybe Happy Ending costar Helen J Shen. In addition to that duo, during the pre-ceremony we will see live performances from Grace Potter, Israel Houghton, Lila Iké, Maggie Rose and Trombone Shorty. Heavy hitting metal band Spiritbox will also take the stage. Perhaps their performance will make for another viral moment, like when they went viral last year for their lead singer, Courtney LaPlante, going along with being mistaken for her contemporary, Poppy. And, summer isn’t over yet, because Zara Larsson is sure to dazzle the preshow stage with song from her beloved album Midnight Sun

Performances during the main event are sure to impress fans. Sabrina Carpenter will be returning to the stage this year, as she’s nominated in several categories, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Music Video and Best Pop Solo Performance with her song “Manchild”. Her latest album Man’s Best Friend is also nominated for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. Lady Gaga will also be performing tonight and if her Mayhem tour says anything, she’s sure to captivate viewers with an epic set. Ahead of his Coachella set in April, Justin Bieber is also set to perform at this year’s Grammys ceremony. This marks Bieber’s first performance at the event since he performed “Peaches” with Daniel Caesar and Giveon in 2022. Rose of the Kpop group Blackpink will also perform tonight as solo act, likely alongside Bruno Mars for “APT”. This year, Rose became the first Kpop soloist to be nominated for a Grammy! You can also look forward to performances from every nominee for Best New Artist, which includes Addison Rae, Alex Warren, Katseye, Leon Thomas, Lola Young, Olivia Dean, Sombr and The Marias. Each nominee for Best New Artist will have a 2-minutes long performance slot.

Every year, the Grammys pay tribute to the artists who passed away that year with in memoriam performances. One of those performances expected to impress is Post Malone’s tribute to the late music icon Ozzy Osbourne, who sadly died last July. Posty will be joined by Slash and Duff McKagan from Guns N’ Roses and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith and Andrew Watt. Lauryn Hill will also pay tribute to the late D’Angelo and Roberta Flack

Watch alongside us! The 2026 Grammys will air on CBS and live on Paramount+ for users with the Showtime add-on. The show will also be available on multiple Live TV streaming services including Hulu + Live TV, Fubo, YouTube TV and more.

She was so into the performance, she even forgot to sing the clean version, getting bleeped several times by Grammy producers. During the bridge of the song, Sabrina sang into a walkie-talkie with a muffled filter over her audio. It was as if she was a pilot giving an announcement to her passengers. She finished the performance by being lifted on top of the plane with a real bird in her hand. The performance was very impressive. Sabrina’s performances rarely disappoint and this was no different.

5:22 pm: Trevor Noah talks with Kendrick Lamar. He jokes about Kendrick’s history of rap beefs, most notably with Drake. At last year’s Grammy awards, he took home the awards for Song of the Year and Record of the Year with his diss track against Drake, “Not Like Us”.

5:32 pm: The Marias kick off the Best New Artist nominee performance segment, with their song “No One Noticed”. The performance was met with blue lights and an ocean on the screen as if the band was lost at sea. The blue lights looked great with their all black outfits and instruments! The instrumental was clean and Maria’s vocals were gorgeously controlled.

5:35 pm: From backstage, Addison Rae is the next performer to go, and she sings her Billboard charting song “Fame Is A Gun”. She performs the song while wearing a bedazzled purple jacket, similar to the pink one in the music video, before she takes it off to reveal a sparkly two piece with boots. The choreography was modern and made for an entertaining performance.

5:38 pm: Without a second to spare, The Grammys transitioned into Katseye’s performance. Katseye performs “Gnarly” and their mics are all the way on! Their performance started backstage, but through the song the group transitioned to performing on the stage. The performance included some iconic choreography, which the band has become iconic for. They did the dance break from their Beautiful Chaos tour. It brought a lot of energy and spunkiness to the Grammy stage.

Their outfits were reminiscent of Twenty One Pilot’s Trench era.

5:40 pm: Leon Thomas takes the stage with a performance of “Mutt”. The instrumentation and vocals were pleasant and he brought good energy! The performance was more laid back than Addison Rae’s and Katseye’s, but Thomas still brought it with his talent! He previously won 2 Grammys tonight.

5:42 pm: Alex Warren performs hit chart-topping song “Ordinary”. The performance is bold yet reserved, but exploded when Alex is lifted on a platform in the center of the Crypto Arena. His voice sounded strong and the audience seemed to enjoy it.

5:43 pm: Trevor Noah makes a joke about Nicki Minaj’s absence and her controversial support of President Trump.

5:44 pm: Lola Young performs a new version of “Messy” while playing the piano. It’s a striking rendition that provides a lot more emotion and soul than the original. Especially considering Lola’s break from the industry to heal her mental and physical health, it was an absolutely stunningly touching Grammy moment, and reminded everyone that Lola Young still has star power, after her break.

5:48 pm: Sombr lights up the stage with a performance of “12 to 12”. Interestingly, the music video for this song includes his fellow Best New Artist nominee, Addison Rae. He brings the energy as he plays around with his signature mic stand. The performance was full of crowd interactions, liveliness and great vocals. Sombr left it all on the stage!

5:53 pm: An ad for Katseye’s collection with Pandora airs.

5:56 pm: Chappell Roan graces the stage to present the award for Best New Artist, which is given to Olivia Dean. She seems honored and moved to receive the award. She speaks about how she’s the daughter of an immigrant and states, “people like that need to be celebrated”.

At the end of the speech, Jelly proclaimed, “Jesus is for everyone”. He preached the gospel with pride.

6:29 pm: 15x Grammy winning artist Lady Gaga performs a more jazz funk version of “Abracadabra”. She’s wearing a headpiece that resembles an eye with red lashes. Even through the head piece covering her face, she brings it with her lively facial expressions. She really plays to the camera, in contrast to Sombr who performed interacting with the in-person audience.  During her performance, the camera angles really captivate the eye, as they strategically move around the stage to show all the action. Gaga’s voice is bold and demanding. Gaga always impresses vocally,  and her performance of “Abracadabra” at the 68th annual Grammy awards was no different. She brought intensity to the Grammy stage.

6:40 pm: Nikki Glazer and Teyana Taylor present Lady Gaga with the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album for her album Mayhem. During her acceptance speech, she expressed that the win felt unreal. He even did some choreography during the song’s bridge! His collaborator, Rose, seemed to enjoy his second performance!

Regina King makes an appearance as the performance transitions from Chromakopia to Don’t Tap The Glass. He transitioned into “Sugar On My Tongue” after running over a Chromakopia-Tyler with a car. Vocals were absent for most of the performance of “Sugar On My Tongue” with Tyler focusing on choreography and performance. The performance did a great job at honoring the rock metal sound Ozzy pioneered through his musical contributions and lifestyle. Jack and Kelly Osbourne look notably and understandably emotional in the audience while watching the performance.

7:49 pm: Lauryn Hill performs a tribute to D’Angelo and Roberta Flack. She sings her song “Nothing Even Matters” from Apple Music’s favorite album ever, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. The original version of the song features D’Angelo and she explains that the two never got to perform the song together when D’Angelo was still alive. She was later joined by Leon Thomas, Jon Batiste, October London and various other artists, making for a star-studded performance. After exclaiming “We love you D’angelo,” Lauryn then transitions the performance into paying tribute to Robert Flack. She sings Flack’s song “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” with a lot of passion and heart. At the end of the performance, John Legend and Chaka Khan perform a duet to “Where Is The Love”, also originally sung by Flack. The performance is wrapped up with Lauryn performing “Killing Me Softly With His Song” by her band The Fugees. During this song, they interacted with the crowd, who sang along with the tune. She shared that she was the first artist to use autotune with her song “Believe”, after being dropped by her label. She then ends the speech by telling artists to “never give up on your dream no matter what happens.” Cher is met with a standing ovation from the audience. Funnily, Cher forgot she was presenting an award and tried to leave the stage after accepting her award.

8:16 pm: “Luther” by Kendrick Lamar and SZA wins the Grammy for Record of the Year. Funnily, when Cher announces the award she called the song by its government name “Luther Vandross”. Soundwave accepted the award alongside the duo and Jack Antonoff. He honors Luther Vandross. After that, Lamar does the same. He explains that this award is very special to him. SZA then takes the mic by telling the audience not to give in to “despair” in these scary times.
