Billy Idol has grabbed rock fans’ attention again with his new single, “77,” featuring Avril Lavigne. This song is sneak peek of Idol’s upcoming album “Dream Into It,” coming out on April 25 under Dark Horse Records. There’s also an animated video for “77” by Spencer Ramsey that matches the lively vibe of the song. The team-up between Idol and Lavigne brings fresh change to Idol’s classic rock sound, mixing his punk background with Lavigne’s pop-punk style.

The song “77” shows Idol’s lasting love for music. It brings back memories while also pointing to the future. The track combines punk’s rawness with rock’s big sound, which has always been key part of his career. Avril Lavigne, known for her pop-punk hits from the early 2000s, matches well with Idol’s style and together they create an exciting blend that will attract both longtime fans and new listeners.

To boost excitement for the album’s release, Idol and Lavigne will perform “77” on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on April 28. This lets fans see the duo’s energy in action. “Dream Into It,” is Idol’s first new full-length album in over ten years and includes collaborations with famous artists like Steve Stevens, Joan Jett, and Alison Mosshart from The Kills. Tommy English, who has worked with big names such as Kacey Musgraves and blink-182, produces the album to make it even more appealing.

Along with this new release, Idol is also celebrating positive reviews and recognition. He and Steve Stevens have been nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2025, showing off successful career lasting more than 40 years. Moving smoothly from punk leader to rock star, Idol’s nomination reflects his important impact on music. The new documentary “Billy Idol Should Be Dead,” directed by Jonas Åkerlund, will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 10. This full-length movie will explore Billy Idol’s life, sharing his story and featuring rare archive footage and personal interviews.

Idol is going on tour again with his “It’s Nice Day To…Tour Again!” special guest Joan Jett & the Blackhearts. The shows are organized by Live Nation and will bring this rock star to famous places all over the US, like Madison Square Garden and Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Billy Idol’s comeback with “77” and his new projects show that he has been around for a long time and can still connect with younger music fans. As he keeps performing and putting out new songs, Idol stays strong in the music world, always changing rock’s rebellious vibe.
