Olivia Rodrigo just pulled off the inaugural iteration of her Daisy Chain Fields music festival, which took place in Irvine, CA. The charitable festival works to benefit women and girls, so fittingly it featured an all women lineup. The whole thing was very inspired by Sarah McLachlan’s Lilith Fair. Acts included Chappell Roan, Doechii, Devon Again (who replaced Katseye after they dropped out due to Megan’s sprained ankle), Bikini Kill, Mitski, and more. Of course, headlining was Rodrigo herself. Not only did she perform her recent song “Serena Joy” for the first time, but she brought three special guests to perform with her, including McLachlan, Alanis Morissette, and Stevie Nicks.
McLachlan was the first guest to perform with Rodrigo. Consequence reports that Rodrigo explained she wanted to perform with McLachlan because “without Lilith Fair there would be no Daisy Chain.” The two performed the song “Building a Mystery”, followed by a performance of “Angel” as a tribute to the country legend, Dolly Parton, who recently passed away.

Olivia then told the audience that Karen O was unable to join her on stage, despite prior plans they had to perform together at Daisy Chain Festival. Next, Rodrigo was joined by Morissette. With Morissette, Rodrigo performed one of the most iconic tracks from Morisette’s legendary album Jagged Little Pill, “Ironic”.

Then, at the end of the set Rodrigo brought out Nicks, after previously teasing their performance together. Rodrigo and Nicks performed a heartfelt duet of “Landslide”. Nicks actually previously duetted this song with Rodrigo’s contemporary, Sabrina Carpenter at the Met Gala. Nicks even proclaimed that Rodrigo “reminds me of me when I was her age a hundred years ago.” She continued with “I’m somewhat awestruck that she could do all this, because it’s so hard, putting this together with all these people and she’s done it, with this grace.”

Daisy Chain Festival raised $10 million for the nonprofit organizations associated with the festival, until Melinda French Gates matched the amount. Therefore, the festival amassed $20 million that will go towards the benefit of so many women. Also, during her set, Rodrigo teased that the festival would be returning for another iteration in 2027. Rodrigo will kick off her Unraveled Tour this upcoming September.
