Firefly Festival Moved to Fall 2021

Firefly Festival has announced its rescheduled dates for September 23-26, 2021. The event had first canceled its 2020 edition last year and usually takes place in June. While the festival has been able to announce its new dates, it has not yet been confirmed if 2020’s original lineup will be able to return.

Firefly shared the new dates on social media, captioning the post with, “It’s true” and the new dates.

2020’s lineup had included Rage Against The Machine, Billie Eilish, Halsey, Khalid, Blink-182, Cage The Elephant, Run The Jewels and much more. Firefly had hoped to have the festival from June18-21, taking place at Firefly’s usual location in Dover, Delaware.

A multitude of festivals have announced their rescheduled dates for the fall of 2021, hoping that enough people will have received a COVID-19 vaccine by that time. Outside Lands intends to return on Halloween weekend this year, while Austin City Limits and Elements also have plans to take place in the fall. Several other festivals such as Coachella, Forecastle, CMA, Primavera Sound and Graspop Metal Meeting have opted to skip 2021, and plan for 2022. Meanwhile, EDC Las Vegas hopes to be able to return in May, however has plans to move to October in case the event is unable to happen.
