Jason Bieler Releases New Song “Bring Out Your Dead” Featuring David Ellefson and a Solo from Devin Townsend

Jason Bieler has teamed up with Megadeth’s Dave Ellefson and Devin Townsend for his new song “Bring Out Your Dead,” which will be on Bieler’s upcoming solo album Song For The Apocalypse, out January 22, 2021. This new song is a nostalgia laden track, with bright progressive rock inspired vocals on top of a heavy breakdown, alongside an ethereal guitar solo from Townsend.

“As someone who tends to avoid guest appearances, I had to make an exception for the hyper-snuggly Jason Bieler as a direct result of a show he played in Vancouver I saw when I was 18 that I found super inspiring. Its my honor to be involved with such a snuggly, talented dude,” Townsend wrote in a press release.

Bieler is best known for his role as the lead vocalist of the glam metal band Saigon Kick, who were active from 1988 until 2000 and again since 2012. The group released a total of six studio albums and two best of compilations, but haven’t released any new material since 2000.

Ellefson has been keeping busy this year releasing covers of AC/DC and Cheap Trick alongside the likes of Dave Lombardo, Al Jourgensen and Charlie Benante. He also reworked the Post Malone song “Over Now” into a metal track filled with blistering guitars along with a hefty amount of screamed vocals.

Townsend has been busy with a Christmas live stream event and the preparation for his upcoming studio album Puzzle, which will be accompanied by a graphic novel and film. This new record follows his three ambient guitar pieces that debuted earlier in the year. He also teamed up with some of his live bandmates for the track “EQUINOX (demo).”
