Olivia Rodrigo just headlined her own Daisy Chain Festival, where she brought up special guests to perform with her, which included Alanis Morissette, Sarah McLachlan, and Stevie Nicks. However, there was supposed to be a 3rd guest during Rodrigo’s headlining set, Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Despite her absence, Rodrigo still acknowledged her during her set.
As reported by NME, the reason for Karen O’s absence was due to a “family emergency”, as Rodrigo reported to the audience while on stage. Karen O decided to go a bit more into detail about said family emergency today on Instagram. She explained in her post that she had to be with family located over on the East Coast. Her post reads, “I was unable to perform at Daisy Chain due to a family emergency. Very sad to miss such a historical music event, but I’m where I’m most needed, with family back east.” She then praised the festival’s founder and mission by saying, “So much gratitude to Olivia for her advocacy for women, by women, who totally rock. Much love KO.”

Despite the cancellation of Karen O’s performance, Olivia still wowed the audience with appearances from Morissette, McLachlan, and Nicks. With Morissette, she sang “Ironic” from Jagged Little Pill. With Nicks, Rodrigo duetted “Landslide”, making for a magical concert moment. And she even honored the late Dolly Parton with a duet of “Angel” with McLachlan, as well as performing “Building a Mystery” with her.
