Indie-rock artist Phoebe Bridgers announced her first headlining tour since 2019, according to spin.com. The tour will be in support of Bridgers’ critically acclaimed album Punisher. The album marks the singers rise into super stardom. Because she dropped her album surprisingly early, Bridgers proofed again that she writes her own rules in the music world. The artist not only shared the link to her album that day, but also provided links to donate to the Black Lives Matter Movement. The album was released shortly after the death of George Floyd. While the album was released year ago, because of the pandemic, there was no tour to support the album, even though Bridgers performed several live streams and played selected songs live at SNL. Her guitar from this performance just recently went up for auction.
Bridgers is also set to be featured on the upcoming Metallica cover album Metallica Blacklist Album. The album also features other popular artists like Miley Cyrus, St. Vincent, OFF!, etc. The record is part of Metallica’s celebration of the 30th anniversary of The Black Album. She is also featured on Lorde’s new track “Solar Power.” The song is the title track of Lorde’s forthcoming album Solar Power.
The tour will contain stops at the Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, TN, the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago, IL, the Governor’s Ball Festival in New York and two performances at the ACL Festival in Austin TX, on October 2nd and 9th. The tour will also continue Bridgers’ philanthropic efforts, $1 of every ticket sold will go to RAINN.
RAINN is the country’s largest anti-sexual violence organization.
