According to Consequence.net, Bruce Dickinson has teased that his upcoming new solo album was recorded earlier this year at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 and the artist has described the album “heavy as shit.” The Iron Maiden singer has confirmed that the new album will be released in 2027 as the follow-up to 2024’s The Mandrake Project, which was accompanied by a comic-book series and other multimedia aspects. The artist said the upcoming record is a return to a more traditional album release.

While talking about the upcoming project, Dickinson said:  “It’s kind of stand-alone. There’s one song that has a bit of something to do with Mandrake. Now, the album is heavy as shit. I’m not digging into Mandrake. I think Mandrake has a life now on a comic book level, so it can just go on the basis of story and everything else. I don’t need to associate music with it unless it’s a really good idea.” The recordings took place in January and February of 2026 at Grohl’s Los Angeles studio with producer Brendan Duffey, who also worked on the Mandrake sessions.

Dickinson recently performed “All the Young Dudes” with Billie Joe Armstrong’s cover band the Coverups as part of Comic-Con festivities in San Diego. Meanwhile, Iron Maiden are currently preparing to embark on their upcoming Run for Your Lives North American tour with Big Four thrashers Megadeth and Anthrax as support. Tickets are available here.
