According  to Floodmagazine.com, last night, Sheryl Crow was in Nashville to receive the annually issued BMI Troubadour Award, which, according to BMI, honors is “a songwriter who has made a profound impact within the American music landscape and whose work continues to set the pace for generations to follow.” During the ceremony, Olivia Rodrigo made a surprise appearance to offer up a cover of Crow’s “Strong Enough,”which is  featured on her 1993 debut LP Tuesday Night Music Club. Jason Isbell, Melissa Etheridge, Eric Church, Lauren Daigle, and Chris Stapleton performed Crow covers, too, before Rodrigo was announced as a surprise finale.

Before performing, Rodrigo said: “What inspires me the most about her is her heart, her kindness, and her generosity… This is my favorite song of hers.”  According to Variety, other performances included Isbell kicking off the evening’s performances with “Run Baby Run,” followed by Etheridge singing “If It Makes You Happy,” Daigle doing “Every Day Is a Winding Road,” Eric Church performing “Leaving Las Vegas” and Stapleton tearing into “I Shall Believe.”
