Olivia Rodrigo has officially unveiled her third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad For a Girl So In Love, marking a new chapter in her rapidly evolving career. The record is set for release on June 12th, 2026, and arrives as the highly anticipated follow-up to her 2023 album Guts. With its unusually long and emotionally loaded title, the project signals a tonal and aesthetic shift for the artist.
According to BrooklynVegan, the album will feature 13 tracks and continues Rodrigo’s collaboration with longtime producer Dan Nigro, who has worked with her since her breakout debut. The rollout began with a cryptic teaser that appeared on a pink wall in Los Angeles before Rodrigo confirmed the album on social media. Early descriptions suggest the project leans into “sad love songs,” exploring the complexities of romance, insecurity and emotional vulnerability.
While Rodrigo has built her career on heartbreak anthems, this album reportedly challenges her to write from a place of happiness, albeit one still tinged with anxiety and introspection. The result is expected to blend the confessional lyricism of Sour with the sharper edge of Guts, while expanding her sonic palette.
As anticipation builds, the album positions Rodrigo once again at the center of pop’s emotional storytelling landscape, with fans eager to see how she continues to redefine her voice on this new release.
