Juice WRLD’s Final Posthumous Album Released With New Video For “Misfit”

The iconic and legendary Juice WRLD’s final album The Party Never Ends has been officially released along with new music video for song “Misfit.” A press release says, The Party Never Ends finds Juice diving down different alleyways of his colorful, complex psyche. On “Misfit,” he turns his outsider status into a reason to rejoice over bright acoustic guitar and big distorted drums: “I don’t fit in, I’m a misfit, oh / First thing on my mind, that’s to get rich, oh.” This highly anticipated album features top names in the music industry such as Eminem, Nicki Minaj, Fallout Boy and more. Steve Cannon, a long time collaborator of Juice, has directed the new video for “Misfit”

The video is said to, “capture[s] the essence of young fans finding solace through Juice’s music.” The video opens with a young boy riding a tricycle and then cuts to seemingly the same boy smoking in his bedroom with the title “2018” suggesting a jump in time. The boy’s room features a Juice WRLD album poster Goodbye & Good Riddance. The video then cuts to a direct shot of the boy smoking what seems to be marijuana and he has headphones on. There is a faint sound coming from his headphones which is “Misfits.” Then as the boy is listening to his music, his mother begins to loudly knock on his door and is scolding her son for smoking in his room. He responds to this by saying “I was going to air it out,” to which she says that she wants him out of the house. The boy then walks outside to meet the younger boy which was featured in the beginning of the video who is now introduced as his younger brother. Despite the initial belief that the boys were the same person just at different times of life, Cannon still depicts this idea of growing up with them being brothers. There is a bittersweet moment between the boys as the older brother says goodbye.

After this the song begins to play and the video shows how the boy continues to live. He gets picked up on the side of the road by someone who might be categorized as a “Misfit” for their punk attire. Cannon cleverly puts this parallel in the video to amplify the message of the song. The boy is then taken to this abandoned house that is housing teens that are also dealing with isolation. The house features the number 999 along with other Juice WRLD attributes. The kids then go to a Juice WRLD concert which is another bittersweet moment in the video.
