As many are aware, Ted Nugent is not the type of person to stray from controversy. The latest target of his ire is a 12 year old “100 Greatest Guitarists” list from the magazine Rolling Stone.
According to Loudwire, Nugent was not a fan both of who the list includes as well as the fact that many people he felt deserving of making the list did not appear. He asked to his audience ‘How do you list the top 100 guitar players and not list Derek St. Holmes?” Nugent was also unhappy with the exclusion of Tommy Shaw.
The musician was particularly upset with the placement of Joan Jett on the list, stating that one would have to be “soulless” to include her on such a list. He goes on to make various comments about Joan Jett, stating that he “[loves] Joan. Some of my greatest memories include lesbians. I love the lesbians…” He goes on to compare her placement to the induction of Grandmaster Flash into the rock and roll hall of fame, which he claims to be an act of “lying.”
The rant comes after a long string of outbursts from Ted Nugent. These include his offer to send “a lifetime supply of good ammo” to Kyle Rittenhouse, his denial of being a Covid denier after testing positive for Covid-19, as well as his claims that dead people voted in the 2020 election.
