Today, it has been announced that the indie rock band The Format, led by Nate Ruess and Sam Means, have series of unplugged shows following their headline performance at New York’s Radio City Music Hall last week. The band is set to close out the year with two hometown shows at The Nile Theater in Mesa, AZ and tickets are on sale this Friday at 12 p.m. local time by purchase HERE. The shows are in support of the band’s acclaimed comeback album, Boycott Heaven, which was released earlier this year.
Boycott Heaven marked The Format‘s first studio album in nearly two decades. Produced by Brendan O’Brien, with O’Brien also contributing bass and Matt Chamberlain (David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Fiona Apple) on drums, the album reconnects Ruess and Means with the alt-rock, grunge, and power-pop records that first inspired them as teenagers in Arizona while looking squarely toward the future. The Format will also join Jimmy Eat World for a special co-headline performance at the Hollywood Bowl on November 7, by celebrating the 25th anniversary of Jimmy Eat World’s seminal album Bleed American and the 20th anniversary of The Format’s Dog Problems.
