Duane “Keffe D” Davis Sentenced To 40 Years To Life In Tupac Shakur Murder Trial

Since being found guilty by a Las Vegas jury, Duane “Keffe D” Davis has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for his role in the murder of Tupac Shakur. As previously scheduled, he was given his sentence today on October 13th.

Shakur’s brother, Mopreme Shakur, stated “He [Tupac] didn’t have a chance to see his nieces and nephews grow up…All Pac got was a death sentence.” Davis’ arrest in 2023 came after a confession in his memoir, Compton Street Legend, released in 2019. He stated he was in the car when Shakur was shot. According to Pitchfork, Davis had stated his nephew, Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, shot and killed Shakur. “He rolled down the window, popped ’em, Davis said to officials. If they drove on my side, I would have popped ’em.”

Tupac Shakur died on September 13, 1996 at 25 years old. He was shot at the MGM Grand while he was leaving the Mike Tyson and Bruce Selden Fight on September 7th. Earlier that night, Tupac and Death Row Records CEO, Suge Knight, assaulted Anderson. Prosecutors deemed Davis guilty for supplying the weapon and orchestrating the murder in retaliation to the attack.

Shakur was one of the biggest stars from the West Coast. All Eyez on Me is a highly revered album among rap fans. Tupac’s music has inspired many incredible artists. Through the art he made in life, his message and memory are made immortal.
