Serpentwithfeet Announces New Album Grip For February 2024 Release, Shares New Single & Video “Damn Gloves’ Featuring Ty Dolla $ign

According to stereogum.com, back in 2021 artist Serpentwithfeet released his album DEACON and since then, the singer has released the songs “I’m Pressed,” “The Hands,” and “Gonna Go.”

And now, Serpentwithfeet has announced that in February he will be releasing the album Grip and the album promises to take the artist deeper into club music and the album also features contributions from Mick Jenkins and Orion Sun.

In the following statement the artist shares what the creative process was like on his upcoming album.

“I wanted to do something completely different than what I’ve done previously… Going out while working on the album and seeing how people stood at the bar when ordering a drink, are they on their phone trying to disappear from the scene? Are they flirting with the bartender? Are they writhing slowly to the music? What does it look like when a guy runs into his ex and that ex is with someone new? I’m curious about all of this.”

“Damn Gloves” is a catchy and urgent dance tune that consists of a beat that points to Baltimore club music scene. With Ty Dolla $ign and South African artist Yanga YaYa, Serpentwithfeet sings about an encounter on a dance floor that may lead to something bigger.

$ign and Serpentwithfeet have previously collaborated on the 2019 track “Receipts” and on “Ego Death,” which is a 2020 single that also featured Kanye West, Skrillex, and FKA Twigs.
