Peta Calls Out Aaron Lewis For Dead Coyote Trump Display

Stanid frontman, Aaron Lewis received abundant backlash after posting an Instagram photo of himself and other hunters posing with 32 coyote carcasses. The dead coyotes were displayed to spell out “Trump 24” with the four men standing behind.

According to Loudwire, the singer is an avid hunter and has even co-hosted the show On The Road Outdoors–a series dedicated to hunting and fishing. Lewis captioned the photo with, “Another incredible 3 night hunt,” and, “Who knew it would take exactly 32 dead coyotes to write such a poignant message to this amazing country we are all watching crumble before our eyes.”

This wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen the Stanid frontman disclose his admiration for Trump. At former concerts, Lewis has called out President Biden and even led an anti Joe Biden chant.

Soon after sharing his acquired mass of coyote carcasses to social media, Lewis began to receive backlash from not only fans, but also PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).

One Instagram user expressed, “I don’t care if it’s legal or not…. I find this very disturbing. I’m a Republican and this is horrible… it takes a very evil heart to do this… unfollowing and hopefully you loose [sic] a lot of fans… I’m definitely not giving up my money for you.”

Another commented, “Your music helped me though [sic] some of the darkest times in my life. And now I find you hateful and disgusting. I even tattooed one of your songs on me to remind me that I’ll be ok. I wish you were.”

According to Billboard, PETA’s vice president Lisa Lang furiously states, “How vile and pathetic that a washed-up musician, desperate for relevance, terrorized and killed animals to get a brief taste of the attention he obviously craves.”

She continues, “Just like the dogs who share our homes, coyotes feel pain and fear and love their families, and because they’re one of the few species found in nearly every U.S. state, they’re beloved by many as America’s ‘song dog.’ PETA encourages Aaron Lewis to seek attention through some act of kindness, rather than slaughtering individuals who are simply trying to eke out an existence in an increasingly paved-over world.”

With fans in a rage over the disturbing post, Stanid will be making a return to the music scene after an 11-year hiatus. During this long break, Lewis continued a solo career within the country music genre.
