Quavo Continues to Honor Takeoff with New Tribute Song & Video “Honey Bun”

Rapper Quavo has released new song, “Honey Bun.” This new song is a tribute to the late Takeoff; the rapper promoted the new single with #ForTake🚀. “Honey Bun” follows the release of two other tribute songs, “Without You” and “Greatness.” Check out the accompanying music video below.

The music video was directed by Keemotion and features the rapper performing the song and grappling with loss. The lyrics allude to the death of his close friends; “I don’t wanna hear no sorry for my loss,” he says. The song also features a nod to Drake’s “Rich Flex” featuring 21 Savage: “Honey bun, can you do somethin’ for me?”

Since the death of Takeoff in November of last year, other Migos members Quavo and Offset have been rather quiet, using their music to heal and cope. Just weeks before his passing, Quavo and Takeoff released joint album, Only Built for Infinity Links. Stream the album here. (Pitchfork)
