According to consequence.net The Cure‘s lead singer Robert Smith announced today the dates for The Songs of a Lost World Tour. The tour will start in May and end in July which includes includes three nights at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The tour will be having The Cure stopping in New Orleans, Houston, Austin, San Francisco, Vancouver, Denver, Chicago, Cleveland, Montreal and Atlanta before wrapping things up in Miami. Post punk band The Twilight Sad will be the opening act for the tour.
The tour comes in support of The Cure’s album of the same name, Songs of a Lost World. Smith has been teasing the record for years and during an interview last year, the singer described the album “the best thing we’ve done.” Also Smith linked the album to 1989’s Disintegration, by saying it’s “pretty relentless” and “doesn’t have very much light on it.”
However, despite previously promising that Songs of a Lost World would be out by the end of last year, the album is still without a release date.
During a European tour late last year, The Cure released the tunes “Alone” and “Endsong,” which are supposedly from Songs of a Lost World.
A Ticketmaster Verified Fan pre-sale is set for Wednesday, March 15 and fans are able to register up to five different shows. Also fans can purchase tickets to The Cure’s upcoming tour through Stubhub.
