Tarja Turunen Vocalizes Support For Current Nightwish Singer Floor Jansen

Tarja Turunen, former vocalist of Nightwish, reveals that she is in touch with current Nightwish vocalist Floor Jansen, more so when Jansen was diagnosed with breast cancer. On recent episode of “Scars and Guitars,” Turunen said: “In general, hey, I feel in metal, we are sisters in metal — we all are like sisters in metal.” The pair even participated in a 48 minute Instagram Live together, which you can watch here.

In 2013, Turunen and Jansen performed together at the 2013 Metal Female Voices Fest, covering “Over The Hills and Far Away,” originally by Gary Moore. Nightwish also covered the song on their 2001 EP of the same name, originally featuring Turunen.

Jansen made her live debut as the frontwoman of Nightwish on October 1, 2012, and officially joined the band in 2013. Jansen made her recording debut with the band on 2015’s Endless Forms Most Beautiful.

Turunen was fired from Nighwish in a public manner with a letter that was later posted to the Nightwish website. Despite this, Turunen continues to support Nighwish, especially Jansen and all women in metal. (Blabbermouth)
