The Strokes are an American rock band from New York City. They formed back in 1998. The band is made up of singer Julian Casablancas, guitarists Nick Valensi and Albert Hammond Jr., bassist Nikolai Fraiture and drummer Fabrizio Moretti. Their sound has been described as indie rock, garage rock and post-punk revival. Artists that have been references as inspirations to the band include MGMT, Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, The Kooks and Crystal Castles. Some of the band’s popular tracks are “The Adults Are Talking,” “Someday,” “Take It or Leave It,” “Reptilia” and “Last Nite.”
Due to the Omicron surge, the band was forced to postpone their Brooklyn New Year’s Eve show at Barclays Center. The show has now been rescheduled to April 6 at Barclay Center. Tickets bought previously will be honored at the rescheduled date. Refunds will also be permitted, though not past February 10, 2022.
Bands, IDLES and Hinds were originally set to play the show, though IDLES no longer will be. Mac DeMarco, who opened last time they played Barclays Center, will now be taking over in IDLES place. Hinds will be opening be as well.
This Instagram post from the band shows their eagerness to play the date. They said,
“Let’s celebrate New Years Eve in April…join us at Barclays Center on April 6, this time we’re bringing it back again w/ Mac DeMarco and Hinds.”
