After multiple festivals updated their COVID-19 policies, the New York festival Governors Ball is now ready to be added to the list. This was announced via the festival’s Twitter. The new policy requires the attendees to show proof of vaccination or show a negative test not older than 72 hours before entry to the festival grounds. “Safety is always our number one priority,” their statement reads. Headliners for the 10th anniversary of the festival are rapper Post Malone, A$AP Rocky, J Balvin and Billie Eilish. The lineup also features Phoebe Bridgers, Megan Thee Stallion, Carly Rae Jepsen, Portugal. The Man, Yung Thug and more. The music fest recently announced they were dropping controversial rapper DaBaby from its lineup after the rapper made homophobic comments and then worsened the situation after.

The city of New York recently updated their COVID policies, requiring everyone in the city who wants to participate in an indoor activity to provide proof of vaccination. This includes, dining in, going to the gym and attending concerts. Even though this wouldn’t apply to the festival, due to it being outside.

Concert organizer Live Nation recently announced that all their events and concerts would require proof of vaccination as well. The policy will become effective October 4th. Live Nation employees will also be required to provide evidence, or they won’t be allowed to attend the events either.

Just today, the Los Angeles Philharmonic announced that they would also require proof of vaccination prior to entry to the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
