The Fall of Troy Release Brief Teaser Hinting at New Music

The Fall of Troy released a 30 second teaser video on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter yesterday continuing to hint that they will be releasing new material in the near future.

The opening of the video depicts the letters “t-e-i-l-k-t-M-t-t-l-t-e-i-l-k-t-e-i-l-k-t-e-i-l-k-t-e-i-l-k” flashing on the screen followed by a black and white drawing of a lighthouse, which appears to then  turn into an orange, yellow and purple palm tree. Next there is a black and white drawing of an eye followed by the words “future” “the” “are” “we,” or “we are the future” in reverse. The lighthouse, palm tree and eye continue to reappear in various sequences until “we are the future” starts flashing on the screen. Finally, the video wraps up repeating “08 08 20.”  The band’s website also has graphic art stating “08 08 Mulkiltearth 20 20” appearing to indicate that a release named “Mulkiltearth” is due to be released on August 8, 2020.

The Fall of Troy is a post-hardcore/mathcore band from Mukilteo, Washington that began in 2002. TFOT released five albums including, The Fall of Troy in 2003, Doppelgänger in 2005, Manipulator in 2007, In the Unlikely Event in 2009 and OK in 2016. They released two EPs, Ghostship Demos in 2004 and Phantom on the Horizon in 2008.

The band toured December 2019 playing shows in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Brooklyn, New York, Allston, Massachusetts and Los Angeles, California. Earlier this year, Thomas Erak, the bands lead singer, released a single with Royal Coda’s Kurt Travis called “2WO” under the project name Push Over.

Alex Limbert: Alex was born in Florida and spent his childhood in New Jersey. He lived in Japan in the ‘90s and has been living in Los Angeles since the millennium. He started playing guitar at the age of eight, studied music theory throughout high school, made an album and went on tour at the age of eighteen. He graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science in Certified Public Accounting, is a CPA, has a small accounting firm and has been a financial controller for over ten years. In 2017, he decided to continue his music career but realized the technology had changed since he was younger. He started going to school online in the evenings to learn music technology and earned a certificate in electronic music proficiency. He is interested in writing about music and is currently taking classes in music appreciation and journalism.
