Metalcore outfit Hatebreed have cancelled their spring 2020 Monsters of Mosh tour due to concerns regarding the coronavirus pandemic, which was originally set to feature support from Creeping Death and After the Burial, Havok, Parkway Drive, Knocked Loose and Fit for a King. Fans who purchased tickets for the tour will be refunded according to the group.
“Regretfully HATEBREED is going to cancel all of their shows in May,” the band explained on social media. “As of now its unclear how many venues will actually be allowed to stay open and in some instances some are already planning to be closed. Beyond the reality that there won’t be enough shows to hold together a tour, we are most concerned about everyone’s health and safety. Canceling is the responsible thing to do in the interest of everyone staying well so we can all look ahead to having shows together in the future.”
The group released “When The Blade Drops” earlier this year, which was their first release of new music since their 2016 studio album The Concrete Confessional. This release tackled many political topics, such as social injustice, police brutality, drug abuse, which also held a strong focus on mental health positivity.
The group is also panning on releasing another studio album sometime within the year, which is set to contain the group’s ferocious style and intensity, according to their frontman Jamey Jasta. “The speed, intensity, and brutality that people have come to expect from us is on full display. Can’t wait to play this one live and see the pit erupt,” Jasta stated.
