According to Blabbermouth.net, Polish extreme metallers BEHEMOTH kicked off their In League With Satan co-headline European tour with DIMMU BORGIR on Friday, October 9, at Halle 622 in Zurich, Switzerland. Support on the trek is came from the Swedish black metal icons DARK FUNERAL. The band’s 14-song set included the live debut of three songs: “To Drown The Svn In Wine”, from the band’s 2025 album The Shit Ov God, as well as I, Scvlpto and a cover of VENOM’s “In League With Satan”, both of which originally appeared on BEHEMOTH’s latest studio release, I, Scvlptor.
As was the case with the studio version of “In League With Satan”, the Zurich performance of the track featured a guest appearance by Shagrath (a.k.a. Stian Thoresen) of DIMMU BORGIR. When the the studio version of “In League With Satan” was first made available in early September, BEHEMOTH frontman Adam “Nergal” Darski commented: “When we were looking for a name for our tour with DIMMU BORGIR, I thought it would be great to use a timeless slogan and basically quote the gods of satanic rock’n’roll — VENOM and ‘In League With Satan’ perfectly fit my vision.
The artist adds: “The idea for the tour name or the idea of recording the song itself. What matters is that we recorded it on seven-string guitars with Shagrath from DIMMU as a guest vocalist. The song gained a massive weight and a completely new dimension. We’re planning to play it live and I think our version turned into something truly powerful.”
