According to Pitchfork.com, fall sports is back in swing and so is Soccer Mommy because she released “Rings of Saturn,”which is her first song in two years. The somber track was produced by Rosalía and Björk collaborator Elliott Kozel, and comes accompanied by dreamy visual directed by Suji Park. “This song is about feeling lost and looking for hope from anywhere,” the artist explains. “I wrote it during a difficult time when I would often take my telescope out into the yard to look at the moon or at planets. There’s something about feeling small that can kind of take the weight off.”
In other news, Soccer Mommy released her most recent album, Evergreen, in 2024. She followed that up last year with an acoustic version of the record, Evergreen (Stripped), Later this month, she will head out on a co-headlining tour with Snail Mail, set to kick off on September 30 in Charlotte. Just last week, Allison opened two shows on Liz Phair and Sleater-Kinney’s joint the Flannel and the Fury Tour.
