With rumors of Slipknot’s DJ and keyboardist Sid Wilson leaving the band, guitarist Jim Root has taken to social media to clear the air, as reported by NME. Last night (July 31st), TMZ reported that Wilson had been permanently kicked out of the band, with no official announcement from Slipknot at the time. No reason for his alleged removal was given in the TMZ article.
In light of the article, Root posted the following message on his Instagram story: “Don’t believe everything you read. Stop. Think. Take a breath. Sit with it for awhile. Maybe. Just maybe even wait until there’s more information.”
No further information has been made public about the rumors on Wilson.
In other Slipknot news, various members have suggested that the band is working on new music. In October of last year, drummer Eloy Casagrande revealed that Slipknot has a lot of new material and confirmed new music was coming. Earlier that spring, Root shared he had completed six arrangements for a new project. Fans have been anticipating a new album from the band since their last release of new material, The End, So Far, in 2022.
