Former Turnstile guitarist Brady Ebert has been arrested following a disturbing incident involving the family of his former bandmate. Authorities say the situation escalated outside a Maryland home, leaving a man seriously injured. The case has quickly drawn attention across the music world due to the severity of the allegations and Ebert’s history with the band.

According to Pitchfork, Ebert was arrested on March 31th in Montgomery County, Maryland and charged with attempted second-degree murder and first-degree assault after he allegedly struck William Yates, the father of Turnstile frontman Brendan Yates, with his car. The alleged incident took place on March 29th outside the Yates family home in Silver Spring. Police reports and witness accounts state that Ebert allegedly arrived at the residence, engaged in a verbal confrontation, and then drove away before returning and allegedly hitting Yates while he stood in the driveway.

William Yates sustained severe injuries to his legs and underwent surgery following the incident. Authorities say surveillance footage captured the alleged attack, and Ebert was later located and taken into custody. He is currently being held without bond as the case proceeds through the legal system.

The band Turnstile addressed the situation in a statement, noting that they had previously cut ties with Ebert in 2022 due to what they described as a pattern of harmful behavior and escalating threats. They also alleged that tensions had continued in the years since his departure, culminating in the alleged incident. Ebert’s attorney has declined to comment, and the case remains ongoing.
