According to Consequence.net, MJ Lenderman was the latest guest on The Adam Friedland Show, opening his appearance with passionate cover of Warren Zevon’s “The French Inhaler.” Performing solo on electric guitar, Lenderman’s rendition opened the episode as he sang the lyrics of heartbreak with eyes closed. “Loneliness and frustration/ We both came down with an acute case,” he drawled, perhaps thinking of his breakup from Wednesday bandmate Karly Hartzman. “And when the lights came up at two/ I caught a glimpse of you.”
Following the performance, Friedland announced that Lenderman played total of two songs in the studio, with the full set to be released on Friday, February 13. Friedland then teased several other live performances recorded for a new series he’s dubbing TAFS Unplugged. “Some of them will be shorter — just performances and then five-minute interviews,” he said. To open the interview, Friedland tried to stir shit up between Lenderman and his indie folk cohort Cameron Winter of Geese, who apparently was in the studio during the performance. The comedian joked about their purported rivalry and height differential, inspiring the trolling title of the video: “MJ Lenderman CALLS OUT Cameron Winter (not clickbait).”
