Stevie Nicks has kicked off her US tour in Portland. The Fleetwood Mac legend made the show at the Moda Center memorable by performing “Angel” for the first time since 1983, according to Stereogum.
After having to postpone the tour due to shoulder injury, Nicks decided to make the first show extra special for fans by performing “Angel” from Fleetwood Mac’s 1979 double album Tusk, which shares a name with Fleetwood Mac’s “Angel” from their 1974 LP Heroes Are Hard To Find. Watch the performance below.
It’s a big year for Nicks as she has recently buried the hatchet with Lindsey Buckingham to release a reissue of their 1973 collaborative LP Buckingham Nicks, which came out on September 19. In April, she discussed writing seven new songs for her first new album in 14 years. “And I thought, You need to go back to work. And I did. I have seven songs, and they are autobiographical real stories where I’m not pulling any punches for probably the first time in my life. They are not airy-fairy songs that you are wondering who they’re about but you don’t really get it. They’re real stories of memories of mine, of fantastic men!” This is just some of what Nicks has said about the new songs. Fans are sure to be revitalized after such a eventful year for Nicks and excited for the album to come.
