

According to consequence.net, Ozzy Osbourne’s death at the age of 76 years old has been met with an outpouring of heartwarming tributes from across the world of the entertainment industry.“Long live the Oz!” Questlove posted, while Gene Simmons called Osbourne “a giant” and Flavor Flav said that he was “real heartbroken.” According to fellow heavy icons Pantera, “We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you.”

Sir Elton John called Osbourne “a dear friend and a huge trailblazer who secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods and a true legend. He was also one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. I will miss him dearly.” Others artists kept their messages brief. “No words, we love you Ozzy,” posted Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day. “He made it,” Jack White wrote.

Osbourne died a little over two weeks after the Back to the Beginning farewell concert, which celebrated his contributions to Black Sabbath, heavy metal and music in general. Among a night of standout performances, including Black Sabbath songs and five solo numbers Osbourne’s isolated vocals on “Mama, I’m Coming Home” are worth a listen.
