According to nme.com, Taylor Swift has donated $5million to Feeding America for Hurricane Helene and Milton relief efforts. Earlier this month, Hurricane Helene made landfall across the Southeastern states of the U.S., which resulted in damages in Georgia, Florida, North Carolina and other states.
At this time, the hurricane has resulted in an estimate of more than 220 deaths, while hundreds of others remain missing. Hundreds and thousands of homes are without power and infrastructural damage is widespread. On October 9, Hurricane Milton hit Florida and has been described by President Joe Biden as “the storm of the century” and “the one of the most and worst destructive hurricanes to hit Florida in over a century.”
And now, the non-profit organization Feeding America has revealed that Swift has made a “generous $5 million donation” that will be used to “help communities rebuild and recover, providing essential food, clean water, and supplies to people affected by these devastating storms.”
Feeding America adds: “Together, we can make a real impact in supporting families as they navigate the challenges ahead. Thank you, Taylor, for standing with us in the movement to end hunger and for helping communities in need.”
