According to nme.com Tame Impala band member Kevin Parker is still planning to go ahead with the band’s  upcoming live shows after fracturing his hip from running in a marathon.

The Australian musician and vocalist went on social media to share  the news of  the latest injury by posting several pictures of himself in the hospital with x-rays which show screws in the singer’s bones and post-surgery stitches.

“Fractured my hip. Tried to run a half marathon on what turned out to be an existing stress fracture. Whoops. Made it to within 1km of the finish line. “That’s life I guess. All shows in Mexico and South America going ahead as planned I’m not quitting on you guys.”

Tame Impala have shows scheduled for Mexico City tomorrow which is followed by Lollapalooza in Buenos Aires, Lollapalooza Santiago, Asunciónico festival in Paraguay, Estéreo Picnic Festival in Bogotá  and Lollapalooza São Paulo.

Last month the band announced a 10 anniversary box set for their second studio album Lonerism. The limited-edition box set will arrive on May 26 and it will include three vinyl records and a 24 page booklet.

The bonus tracks features  unreleased demo versions of “Retina Show” and “Sidetracked Soundtrack” which are two songs from the Lonerism sessions that did not make the final cut.
