English singer-songwriter Charli XCX has unveiled a new track titled “Baby” along with an official music video. The new single and video were released in promotion of Charli XCX’s upcoming album, Crash, set to release on March 18.

“Baby” is a highly energetic and sensual single. Charli, when describing the intent of the track, described it simply, stating “The track is about great sex.” Throughout the song, we hear Charli sing to a love interest, describing the things she would want to do with them, singing “I’ma make you my (Baby)” and “I’ma love you real, I’ma love you raw/ I’ma love you in the kitchen/ I’ma put you on the floor/ Leave you wanting more.” “Baby” was among the first tracks that Charli XCX wrote off of her forthcoming album, and she has described the new single as one of her favorites off the record.

The music video for the track is simple but fun, the main emphasis being the stunning dancing ability of Charli and her two backup dancers. Thorough the video, we watch as Charli expresses her feelings and desires through her dance, surrounded by a blue background and clear camerawork that shows off every move given by Charli and her dancers in all of their glory. The new video was directed by Imogene Strauss and Luke Orlando, while the choreography for the video was created by Charli’s frequent collaborator Nathan Kim. “Baby” is the third single that Charli XCX has released from Crash, following her previous singles Beg For You, featuring Rina Sawayama, as well as “New Shapes,” featuring Christine & The Queens and Caroline Polachek. Crash will be the fifth and final album Charli XCX will release under her current record deal.
