Go Ahead And Die Announce Arizona Live Debut

Go Ahead and Die has announced their official live debut, which will take place in Tempe, Arizona on September 25 at The Marquee. This event is held in honor of Dana “D-Low” Wells, stepson the band’s frontman Max Cavalera, who passed away in 1996. The show will also feature appearances from Incite and Healing Magic, which feature Cavalera’s stepson Richie Cavalera and son Igor Amadeus Cavalera, respectively.

Max Cavalera is best known as a member of Soulfly, a LA-based heavy metal outfit that has been active since 1997. The rest of Go Ahead and Die’s members include the aforementioned Igor Cavalera and Zach Coleman, who are both also members of Khemmis. Coleman additionally serves as a member of Black Curse, a black/doom metal outfit.

After their reveal in January, the band debuted their first teaser of music in early February. Go Ahead and Die revealed their first single “Truckload Full of Bodies,” back in March, which was followed by the release of “Roadkill” in May. “Truckload Full of Bodies,” was inspired by the deaths caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which was exacerbated by inadequate government responses in its early stages. “Roadkill” is equally political, as it discusses the plight of the unhoused, many of whom had their lives worsen as a result of the pandemic.

“‘Truckload Full Of Bodies’ is a battering ram and fist in the face of those in power who had no problem watching so many people die. I think it perfectly sets the tone for the album,” Coleman explained upon its release.
