The annual Rock Am Ring and Rock Am Park music festivals in Germany have announced their 2021 lineup, which features the return of Volbeat, Green Day and System of Down, who were scheduled for this year’s event, prior to its cancellation. Rock am Ring will take place at the Nürburgring race track while Rock Am Park taking place at the Zeppelinfeld in nearby Nuremberg, from June 11 to June 13.
Fans will have the option to either defer their tickets to next year, or receive a refund according to festival organizers. The festival originated back in 1985 and has been held almost annually since 1993.
Volbeat are a Danish rock band formed in Copenhagen back in 2001, where they became known in the international scene for their unique blend of old school rock and roll and heavy metal. This unique juggling style was present on their latest album release Rewind, Replay, Rebound, which came out in 2019.
Green Day launched into superstardom back in the 1990s, where they became one of the most prominent faces of the pop-punk movement during the following decades. Their most recent studio album Father of All… was released back in February, and featured a return to their more politically oriented sound featured on American Idiot.
System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian will be releasing an EP of rock songs on his own, which were originally intended for the band. He recently performed classical Armenian inspired song titled “Hayastane,” which had lyrics written by the Prime Minister of Armenia.
