Slipknot Announces First-Ever Knotfest at Sea Cruise for August of 2020

I don’t think there has been anyone whos has found themselves in the headlines more this year then heavy metal band, Slipknot. Having a successful Knotfest tour, finding themselves in hot water after a fan died in mosh pit during one of their sets, and now announcing that their hit music festival will hit the high seas. Knotfest at Sea is scheduled to set sail from Barcelona on August 10th, 2020 and will return to shore four days later. Slipknot is scheduled to headline two shows during the cruise event as well as announcing a full lineup and on board experiences. Although not much else has been said about this once in-a-lifetime opportunity, you can head over to the official Knotfest at Sea website for more information regarding the cruise.

Since it’s inception in 2012 Knotfest has become a major music festival for heavy metal fans. Expanding into 5 countries including USA, Japan, Mexico, Colombia and this year, France when the inaugural Knotfest meets Hellfest event sold out in weeks. Global demand continues to grow for this unique culture that Slipknot has created through their community of fans which only leads to them expanding into more countries.

This year Knotfest Mexico will take place in Parque Deportivo Oceania on November 30th and will mark Slipknot’s first-ever performance in Mexico City. Shortly after that, Knotfest Columbia takes place in Hipódromo De Los Andes in Bogotá on December 6th, marking the bands first time headlining this event.

2020 looks just as big, not only does Slipknot have their Knotfest at Sea, but their Knotfest Japan is scheduled to take place March 20th and 21st. The band is set to headline both nights with a surprise feature from Anthrax on the first night of the event. But the surprises don’t stop there, joining Slipknot for the second night of Knotfest Japan will be Korn.

Earlier this year Slipknot did another first and took their Knotfest even on the road. They hit over 30 cities in North America and played to some of the biggest audiences in their history. They also headlined U.S. festivals Louder Than Life and Aftershock this fall and will return to Europe for a headline arena tour in January 2020, where many of the shows sold out in a matter of hours.
