Linkin Park Released a Video for “Talking to Myself” Just Hours Before Singer Chester Bennington Was Found Dead

While the world is still in mourning of the loss of rock band Linkin Park‘s frontman Chester Bennington, NME reported that the video to their second single “Talking to Myself,” off their latest album One More Light which came out earlier this year in May, was uploaded before the horrible news of the beloved rock singer’s death was announced.

The sad irony of the releasing of the video & the timing of Bennington’s passing was the content of “Talking to Myself.” The song is about the perspective of someone who’s watching one of their loved ones battle their inner demons but isn’t able to help them at all. The song was written from Bennington’s wife’s, Talinda Bennington, point of view of the internal struggle that her husband dealt with everyday.

Bennington wrote lines that displayed his loving wife trying to save him & her concern for him when he rejects her help with lines like “You say I can’t understand/But you’re not giving me a chance/When you leave me, where do you go?” The video includes clips from the band’s live shows, backstage shots & travelling between gigs & festivals. In a sad way the video shows how even though the late & great singer was surrounded by people who loved him, whether they were band members or die hard fans, while he was on tour, deep down he still felt empty & alone.

Below you can checkout the video to “Talking to Myself” as the world continues to remember the legacy of Chester Bennington.
