Illinois singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Andrew Bird, who most recently released his newest album, critically acclaimed record Are You Serious, has just announced that he will be setting out on a full coast-to-coast US tour in order to support the new LP. Starting the main leg of tour at the beginning of September in Seattle, WA, at Bombershoot Music Festival, and capping the tour off mid-October, performing in Providence,RI, at the Columbus Theater, this looks to be an epic tour that will host plenty of special guest performers.
Currently performing several shows during May with Czar’s frontman John Grant as the first part of the tour, partnering up with Everytown for Gun Safety and raising over $25,000 for the foundation, bringing out Margo Price in Nashville to help perform his single “Left Handed Kisses”, followed by Fiona Apple at their show in Los Angeles to sing the single as well as a Bob Dylan cover, audiences have been captivated throughout his journey.
With his finely tuned band featuring Ted Poor on drums, Alan Hampton on bass, and Steve Elliot on guitars, this upcoming tour will showcase some of Bird’s best work to date, get those tickets quick folks.
