According to Consequence, it has been announced that David Fincher has gotten Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross to compose the score for the director’s upcoming Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood sequel, The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth. Written by Quentin Tarantino and directed by Fincher, The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth finds Brad Pitt reprising his titular Academy Award-winning role — Tarantino clearly loves the character, having also revealed plans for a new Cliff Booth novel earlier this year.
This time, it’s 1977, eight years after the events of Tarantino’s film, and Booth has found work as a Hollywood fixer when he isn’t tending bar or working as a projectionist. Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Peter Weller, Matt Groove, JB Tadena, Corey Fogelmanis, and Karren Karagulian round out the cast.
The film marks Reznor and Ross’ sixth consecutive feature collaboration with Fincher, following The Social Network, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Gone Girl, Mank, and The Killer. The partnership began with their Oscar-winning soundtrack for The Social Network in 2010, and their music has since become as much a part of Fincher’s signature as his affection for and ability to deeply unsettle people.
