Today, Brighton kosmische pop band Fujiya & Miyagi have released their new single, “No Green Light”, which is from their imminent new album of post punk and electronic pop floor fillers, New Shiny Object. The record is the band’s first major release in four years that set for release on October 30, 2026, through Impossible Objects Of Desire. The ditty is a pure infinite motorik groove and the track on the album that diehard Fujiya & Miyagi fans will associate the most with their trademark sound.
The sinister film noir video for “No Green Light” was created by longtime F&M collaborator Bob Brown, Thomas Martin and the band themselves. Never afraid of acknowledging their heroes in Fujiya & Miyagi’s work, the video pays homage to the “Ghost Town” video by The Specials and classic films such as Kiss Me Deadly, Detour, The Hitch-Hiker and Lost Highway. the music video matches the movement and the energy of the song with the band’s moonlit night drive into the unknown.
Also announced today, Fujiya & Miyagi will be touring in January 2027 in support of ‘New Shiny Object’ and playing the new songs out for the first time ever. Tickets go on sale on Friday, here’s the run of UK dates starting in Brighton and taking in London’s Moth Club
