According to a new report by TMZ, Coachella’s 2027 edition is set to include SZA, Dua Lipa and Tame Impala as headliners. They have also reported that Rage Against The Machine and BTS had been in talks to perform as well, though they both allegedly declined. The rumors about Dua Lipa and Tame Impala’s involvement had been swirling since September.
As Consequence reports, industry publication Hits Daily Double previously reported on Dua Lipa and Tame Impala’s potential bookings back in September, with suggestions that Fred Again… would occupy the “Returning to the Desert” slot listed at the bottom of the event’s poster. It’s also suggested that SZA was in talks to take that third headlining spot around the same time.
If the rumors are true, this will mark the fifth performance by Tame Impala at Coachella, following a headliner in 2019 which previewed their 2020 release The Slow Rush and festival performances in 2015, 2013 and 2011. Dua Lipa would be new to the festival however, and possibly coming with new music given her latest album is expected in 2027 following 2024’s Radical Optimism. BTS was previously among a list of alleged potential headliners (alongside Oasis and Radiohead), but turned it down alongside Miley Cryus and now, apparently Rage Against the Machine.
The full official lineup is expected to be released soon. Coachella 2027 is set for April 9th-11th and April 16th-18th at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
