Canadian singer-songwriter and guitarist Devin Townsend has announced a new album today, set for release next week. The album, Harmonic Dhamara, was announced today as part of World Mental Health day, as reported by Blabbermouth. Set to release Friday, October 16th, the album is set to release under the DREAMPEACE banner, a project created by Townsend inspired by his own insomnia and made to help encourage restful sleep, especially for others who struggle with relaxing and getting proper sleep.

In an Instagram post announcing the album, it was explained that Harmonic Dharma was initially released as a limited-edition CD during Townsend’s Metamorphosis tour, with the remaining copies being offered to his Patreon community ahead of the album’s release across streaming platforms on October 16th.

“This is music to create balance within oneself and the world…” the post reads. “As you guys know, making The Moth album, was so creatively and logistically ambitious, it took me mentally to a challenging place on so many occasions. After it was completed, I went on retreat for a month to re-center myself. This Dreampeace album is one of the many nourishing harvests from that much needed spiritual journey.

“My aim with this music is to provide a soundtrack for anxious minds. And I sincerely hope it brings you the peace it has brought me. – Dev”

Townsend’s recent Metamorphosis tour came as a result of The Moth show leading him to “financial Armageddon,” with the tour being held in hopes of offsetting some of the financial woes.

Steven Taylor: Hello, I'm Steven! I'm a graduate of Seton Hall University. I majored in journalism, with a minor in Public Relations. I've always had a passion for the arts and creative fields. Writing especially is an area I've always found myself gravitating towards, between assignments in class, working for the school newspaper or just writing in my spare time. I love providing and hearing new perspectives. In addition to my studies and work in writing, I work part-time at after-school and summer programs for my local elementary school. I've been a part of these programs since I was in high school, and I've even been assigned to work one-to-one with children with special needs. I like to think that if I'm able to communicate well with children in the 2nd grade, then I can communicate well with most adults too!
