Gorillaz Invite Pusha T Onstage In NYC For Performance Of “Let Me Out”
Gorillaz invited Pusha T onstage at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday to perform “Let Me Out.” According to JamBase, he was joined by the Harlem Gospel Choir for this performance, who also helped close the main set with a performance of Gorillaz’s song “Demon Days.” The studio version “Let Me Out,” which appears on their album Humanz, features Pusha T alongside Mavis Staples. This is the first time that “Let Me Out” has been performed since the album’s release in 2017, where Pusha T joined Gorillaz for a live performance at Printworks London during the band’s album launch party. The MSG show was a part of the North America leg of Gorillaz’s current tour, “The Mountain Tour,” in support of their album The Mountain, which was released on February 27 of this year. Various artists feature on the newest project from Damon Albarn’s virtual band, including Black Thought and Asha Puthli, who joined Gorillaz onstage for a performance of their song “The Moon Cave.” Several artists that feature on past albums have also been brought out during this tour, including Miho Hatori, Kara Jackson, Little Simz, Bootie Brown, and Del the Funky Homosapien.
Gorillaz will continue their tour at TD Garden in Boston tomorrow, being set to perform several more shows in North America before this leg of the tour concludes on October 18, where they will perform at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado. Starting in November, the band will begin the South America leg of their tour. Their first concert will take place in Bogota, Columbia at Coliseo Medplus on November 17, with this leg of the tour concluding on December 4 in Santiago, Chile at Estadio Bicentenario de La Florida.
