Today, Marissa Nadler has shared her animated music video for “Smoke Screen Selene” and as a whole, the video is wonderful by how each black and white scene lets viewers use their imagination, while Nadler sings out the beautiful lyrics. In ways, the animation tells a story about the song with using objects that can mean something deeply meaningful to the artist. Also, the black and white colors of the whole music video compliments the rich human feelings the artist is singing about.

As for the music, Nadler leans into a haunted soundscape, erasing the world surrounding “Smoke Screen Selene.” The whole composition hold  a steady, deep low guitar strum, as Milky Burgess and Randall Dunn create the catchy musical vibes with their skills on the synthesizers. For those who may not know, New Radiations is Nadler’s 10th full-length album, which was released last year. On the album, lyrics is the essential part to feel everything Nadler is trying to tell us, which is  gentle and sad at the same time.
