According to Stereogum.com, next month the resurgent dance-pop and R&B artist Tinashe will be hitting people with her new album Popstar and the early singles “Too Easy” and “Crash Out” are crazy good. Today, Tinashe has shared the all-out dancefloor blitz “Melatonin,” which is already favorite off the Popstar album. The track itself is a wriggling, maximalist and borderline experimental techno ditty that is full of jittery rave drum programming and disorienting vocal edits. Tinashe is operating in the Shygirl zone and it is the best kind of post-hyperpop freaky stuff some people love.
On another note, Ricky Reed, Zack Sekoff, and Nightfeelings co-produced “Melatonin” and the tune has a very fun dance-centric video that 91 Rules directed. As a whole, the music is fun by how each scene shows Tinashe wearing a gigantic black hat, while perform the super catchy and vibrant track. Honestly, “Melatonin” is a great piece of work and surely, the artist’s upcoming album will sound just as amazing and the music is just as catchy.
