On Tuesday morning, Rod Stewart shared a post to Instagram, where he announced that his current One Last Time tour would be coming to an end after he underwent an operation on his heart. The surgery was a routine coronary stent procedure, as Consequence of Sound reports. They also report that the doctors said his operation was successful and he is expected to make a full recovery.
The post includes a statement regarding Stewart’s surgery and the tour’s early end. That caption reads, “Following further medical evaluation, Sir Rod Stewart has successfully undergone a routine coronary stent procedure. Doctors are pleased with his recovery, and Rod is doing very well and has returned to his normal daily activities. On the advice of his doctors, he will take the next four weeks to recuperate and regain full fitness before returning to the stage. Unfortunately, this means he will be unable to continue his current tour dates.”

This tour’s early conclusion means that Stewart will no longer be playing his remaining shows in the U.S. and Mexico throughout August and September. The cancellations also include the six night stint Stewart planned to play at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, dubbed “The Encore Shows”. The cancellation of the One Last Time tour comes shortly after Stewart cancelled another gig in San Diego, back in June, due to a sinus infection and laryngitis. However, he was then spotted in a video heading to a World Cup Match.
