Roadburn Announces Initial 2027 Lineup Featuring Neurosis

UPDATE: 8/18/2026 – The Roadburn festival has announced that Emma Ruth Rundle, Sadness and Trhä will be performing at this year’s event. Also, the event will feature the debut European performances from blackgaze project Sadness and black metal ensemble Trhä. The projects are both the brainchild of Damián Ojeda, who is a prolific musician in the underground scene. As for Rundle, she will return to Tilburg for a full playthrough of her upcoming new album, These Killing Times.

Today, the Roadburn festival has announced the first artist for its 2027 edition. Neurosis will return to Tilburg to perform their first European shows in over seven years. The legendary band, who released new album earlier this year, will perform two sets at the event  that is set to take place between April 15-18, 2027. All bands that perform at Roadburn are woven into the festival’s history, but few have the presence and power to help truly define Roadburn. Neurosis is unquestionably such band. “There are few places in the world that feel like home to our music the way Roadburn does; where we are in the company of kindred spirits who share our endless obsession for emotional, genre defying, independent heavy music. Roadburn is a place where the fourth wall, that imaginary boundary between artists and audience, dissolves as we all become one: a community that gathers together to honor and celebrate the healing power of intense dark music as a way to stay sane in an insane world. Now, as we have re-emerged from the darkness with the album of our lives, we can’t imagine making our return to Europe in any place other than Roadburn,” said Steve Von Till of Neurosis.
