Lindsey Buckingham was the victim of a startling incident in Santa Monica this week when a woman allegedly attacked him outside a scheduled appointment. The encounter unfolded quickly and left witnesses stunned as authorities began piecing together what happened. While the situation could have turned far more serious, Buckingham ultimately avoided physical injury.

The former Fleetwood Mac guitarist, now 76, was arriving at a building in Santa Monica when a woman approached and threw an unknown substance at him before fleeing the scene. According to NBC Los Angeles, law enforcement sources described the suspect as someone already known to Buckingham from prior incidents, raising concerns that the attack may have been targeted rather than random. 

Authorities believe the woman may have tracked Buckingham’s schedule and intentionally showed up at the location. After throwing the substance, she ran off, and as of early reports, no arrest had yet been made, though police have identified a suspect and expect one soon. 

The attack adds an unsettling chapter to the life of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame musician, best known for his work on landmark albums like Rumours. Despite the alarming nature of the confrontation, Buckingham was not injured. The incident is now under investigation by both Santa Monica police and the Los Angeles Police Department, who are working together to determine the suspect’s motives and ensure Buckingham’s safety moving forward.
