On Tuesday, December 9th the Grammy Museum welcomed five-time 2026 Grammy Award-nominated duo Clipse to the Museum’s intimate 200-seat Clive Davis Theater for an evening celebrating their Album Of The Year and Best Rap Album nominated “Let God Sort Em Out,” Best Rap Song nominated “The Birds Don’t Sing,” Best Rap Performance nominated “Chains & Whips,” and Best Music Video nominated “So Be It” with a discussion about their creative process. The night was moderated by none other than Elliot Wilson, founder and CEO of Rap Radar, journalist, television producer, and magazine editor.
During the panel discussion, Pusha T got a bit carried away and accidentally revealed that the duo will be going on tour with LA rock group Linkin Park next summer. Wilson asked the rap duo, “Does the campaign end with the Grammys?” Without hesitation, Pusha T answered, “I think we victory lap through the summer. We’re going on tour with Linkin Park this summer.” Linkin Park announced the summer tour dates with Clipse on December 14th. The rock band has recently announced Spring dates in Australia with guest Polaris.
Clipse is the acclaimed hip-hop duo made up of brothers Pusha T and Malice. Hailing from Virginia Beach, VA, the duo released a series of lauded mixtapes and a trilogy of instant-classic albums – Lord Willin’, Hell Hath No Fury, and Til The Casket Drops – executive produced by Pharrell Williams, who provided a sparse, kinetic sonic backdrop for Clipse’s vivid, sometimes sinister tales of street enterprise. Let God Sort Em Out, Clipse’s fourth studio album and first in over fifteen years, was released this year to overwhelming fan, industry and media support, debuting in the Top 5 on the Billboard 200, and garnering a flood of critical acclaim including Rolling Stone’s 4-star review proclaiming the album as “brilliant,” the Guardian’s Five-star review hailing it as “one of the albums of the year.” Let God Sort Em Out has been nominated for five Grammys, including Album Of The Year, Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Music Video.
Wilson asked the brothers, when they reflect back on the past and now have come back, what are they most proud of? The two artists agreed in their response that they are most proud of their fans. The two brothers were grateful for their fans’ response to the new album and mentioned that they now see a variety within their fan base, ranging from different age groups, from 16 to 60-year-olds.
On the topic of their new album and how it honors their parents, the duo stated that everything around it holds an emotional weight. From writing “The Birds Don’t Sing,” to performing at the Vatican, and now nominated for Best Rap Song, “there is no better way to honor our parents,” said the duo.
The duo briefly touched on having Kendrick Lamar on the album. Wilson stated that the rap group had to hold off for a whole year to release the album. Pusha T stated that the label “pushed the brakes on everything” due to the Drake and Kendrick Lamar drama taking over the media. The duo not once thought it was an option to remove Kendrick from the album. “It wouldn’t be a Clipse album if we didn’t have some kind of politics or some kind of red tape, you know,” commented Malice.
In the middle of the panel, Wilson took a few minutes to show the “So Be It” music video, earning Clipse the nomination for Best Music Video. The duo thanked the video Director Hasan Hussein, for his direction and for hearing their wants and for bringing their thoughts to life. The duo then told the story on how Swizz Beatz managed to get the duo clearance to use a song sampled on that specific song.
The rappers stated that they tried to find the song’s owner but did not find anything until the music video was out, and fans quickly found all the information needed. Clipse now laugh at the thought of just how bold it was to release the music video and song for “So Be It” before ever properly receiving the okay to use the sampled song. Swizz Beatz had traveled to Saudi Arabia for other reasons but had told the group he would take care of the issue for them. “He said he was about to go party with them,” recalled Pusha T. “He calls me back and says, ‘I’m sitting with your Highness. You are all good.'” Pusha T and Malice put their trust in what Swizz Beatz told them. He was at a party and had a call with the Chancellor of Entertainment and Tourism to get the official clearance to use the song.
Clipse skipped their performance that typically occur during these Grammy Museum special events. Mxdwn was told by a Grammy Museum employee, “They chose not to perform tonight which is why the event ended earlier than usual.”
Clipse released their latest music video for “P.O.V.,” featuring Tyler, The Creator, directed by Cole Bennett. Watch Clipse during the 68th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 1st, 2026.
