Singer, Billy Joel, has recently revealed to his fans and to the world that he had been diagnosed with the brain disorder, Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH). He had revealed this in May and since then, only third party sources have been giving the public health updates, until recently, when he had opened up about it. Joel had become a guest on an episode of Bill Maher’s Club Random podcast, according to an article by Consequence. “I feel fine. My balance sucks,” said Joel. “It’s like being a boat… It used to be called ‘water on the brain.’ Now, it’s called Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus. They don’t really know… I thought it must be from drinking. I feel good. They keep referring to what I have as a brain disorder, so it sounds a lot worse than what I’m feeling.”
The singer wanted to make it clear to people that he was not dying. He knew a lot of people were expressing their concern and were worried about him, but he wanted people to know he is okay. In an interview with PEOPLE, he gave an update on his health as well. “I know a lot of people are worried about me and my health, but I’m okay,” said Joel. “What I have is something very few people know about, including me, no matter how much you try to research it. I’m doing my best to work with it and to recover from it.” Joel has also been working on getting better and trying to heal from his diagnosis. He has also been working through it by doing physical therapy.
